APTech Awarded Nevada LTAP Contract

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has reselected APTech as the Program Administrator for the Nevada Local Technical Assistance Program (NVLTAP). This marks APTech’s second consecutive NVLTAP contract, with the first awarded in 2019. Our presence will bring continuity to the program and will allow APTech to continue the NVLTAP’s mission of bridging the gap between roadway transportation research and local agency practice.

Carrie Brown will be serving as APTech’s NVLTAP Program Manager. She brings to this project an expertise in training delivery, with a focus on safety, cultural sensitivity, and program management. During APTech’s previous NVLTAP contract, Carrie served as a Subject Matter Expert. While in this role, she helped organize the first Nevada Asphalt Conference, represented the NVLTAP at the Spring Nevada American Public Works Association (APWA) conference, and established relationships with several Nevada counties and tribes that previously had not been served by NVLTAP. Carrie stated that she is “honored to continue to serve Nevada in this capacity with NDOT and perpetuate APTech’s reputation of providing exemplary service to our clients. Our team is excited and committed to providing technical assistance and quality training to Nevada local agencies.”

Historically, APTech has had a strong presence in Nevada, conducting work with both NDOT and local agencies from its Reno office for over 20 years. Throughout this project, the APTech team will continue to empower Nevada agencies to strengthen their communities through transportation countermeasures and safety initiatives. During our previous four-year contract, APTech has helped make the NVLTAP a highly responsive training and technical program, with accomplishments such as creating a catalogue of virtual transportation training classes and increasing the number of training participants by 29 percent in 3 years. We are committed to continuing to meet or surpass our NVLTAP goals as we begin this new project.
