APTech achieves significant milestone in airport pavement management systems
An airport pavement management system (APMS) is an essential part of maintaining one of the biggest infrastructure investments at any airport: its pavement. Since APTech’s founding over three decades ago, we have recognized this importance and dedicated a substantial portion of our business to helping clients implement, nurture, and update their systems.
APTech’s State Airport Agencies (SAA) program is proud to announce some major APMS milestones achieved in 2025. This year marks the completion of the group’s 100th statewide APMS project, including implementations and updates, for 31 State agency clients. In addition, the firm has now completed more than 7,000 airfield Pavement Condition Index (PCI) inspections at airports across the nation and beyond.
To celebrate the occasion, some of APTech’s longtime SAA team members reflected on their experiences serving clients over the years and shared what they found most rewarding about this work.
APTech co-founder and Vice President Maggie Covalt, P.E., said, “In my role leading the group for more than two decades, one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had was watching the talented engineers we hired evolve into very skilled and dedicated professionals, who in turn are now mentoring the next generation of leaders.”
Kyle Potvin, P.E., Vice President and Program Director, shared, “I like to travel and feel fortunate to have been able to visit every state in the nation, working on some project or another in most of them. What we do on these projects is important and that places a value on your work. I think when you have that, you know you are in the right place doing the right thing.”
Let APTech’s pavement experts use their knowledge and experience, now cultivated over the course of 100 projects, to help ensure the success of your next statewide APMS implementation or update.
